Shefford Farmers’ Market is now Shefford Community Market and our first one was last weekend

It’s taking place in Pamoli Square, which is outside Morrisons, along Church Walk and also outside Jardine’s Chemist on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

Our first market had 11 stalls, and we already have 12 booked for our next one on Nov 11th, with more space available, so if you’re interested in joining us, find out more here.

Last weekend we had a steady stream of people throughout, from those who usually walk that way, to others who came just for the market, and we had some lovely comments!

Stallholder feedback included that we had a similar footfall to Hitchin market which they’d had a stall at a few weeks earlier, but sold more at ours, and another said they’d met some lovely people and it was the nicest market they had ever attended! Amazing!

Visitor feedback – I was asking what they wanted from a market – more edibles! We’re trying, and in November we do have more, with fresh chillies, pickles, chutneys and sauces, as well as chilli plants, plus our regulars, Franklins Butchers. We want to welcome more food traders, so please help us to spread the word.

Each month we have space under Morrisons awning for those who don’t have their own gazebo (or don’t want to bring it!) We started with 4 spaces, but we’re increasing it to 5 from November.

In Pamoli Square we have space for 9 gazebos, and outside Jardine’s Chemist there is space for 5 – St Michaels church is also taking part with a Fairtrade food stall inside. If we outgrow the space available, we have the potential to move into the High St.

Come and help us to grow this market into an asset for the people of Shefford and the surrounding villages.

PS We have a couple of spaces for our Shefford Christmas Craft Fair on December 2nd. Find out more about all of our events here or apply for a stall.
